Would a .co.uk be any better for listings in UK directories?
Would .info be any better for free inclusions?
Thanks.

To be honest, I'd say that .co.uk would be better for promoting a US site than .info -- I use a .co.uk domain, and only about 60% of my visitors are actually from the UK.

Some search engines still use the .co.uk domain as a major factor in deciding whether a site is UK based or not.
Stick with .co.uk, and make sure you host it in the UK to be on the safe side.

.org.uk still exists, but what makes you think it would be better than .co.uk? Most people from the UK (myself included) will often randomly type in a url that's the name of what they want with a .co.uk domain. Most people wouldn't think about .org.uk.
