If you can sell ads to individual advertisers who are highly interested in your topic, you might do better. It's also possible that very targeted affiliate ads could outperform Adsense, too. For quick setup and reasonable payout under most conditions, though, Adsense is hard to beat.

It may be too late now, but try putting an affiliate ad on the Game Over page. I am assuming that it has one of those. Put a line saying, "If you liked this game, help support it by visiting our sponsor"
The game "Elf Bowling" and it's many versions are an example of something like this, except the ad on the Game Over page is for the ad company that created it. I think "Elf Bowling" is the ultimate example of a game going viral.
I have been toying with the idea of trying to create a holiday game to send to our customers next Xmas with the hopes that it would go viral and generate free advertising. You've done it w/o even thinking about it.
