Website templates : I may have lost my mind by the time your read this

Why is it so difficult to find decent website templates of the kind I'm looking for? It seems that every single template available is very graphical and often with certain themes..

I'm looking for basic html website templates with NO GRAPHICS. They should ofcourse be nice-looking, stylish, and NOT free - could you please recommend a site that sells these

If you don't want graphics you should probably look for something using CSS to at least control some of the text styles on the page.

I can understand why you wouldn't want too many graphics, but if you don't want any it's probably going to be hard to find a 'Not Free' template because most of what you would be paying for is the graphic design.

Have you tried looking in your local book store for something on 'great looking websites'? You may be able to get some ideas from them and create something simple on your own.

To give you effective help, people will need to know what you want to do with your website. Store? Weblog? Display baby pictures? What?

yes, templates using CSS style sheets would be perfect.

The templates are for publishing articles on various topics. I'd prefer the traditional layout; leftside navigation and top space for a logo

There's a huge ammount of free css layout information on the web, just search Webmasterworld and on Google for css layout. To make the most of it, you may need to hone your basic html and css skills at somewhere like w3schools [w3schools.com]. Get a good free editor like Html-Kit or Notetab Lite and you're ready to go.

I had the same problem a few months back ... I ended up spending a few days coding my own templates. Low graphics, ready to optimize for SEs, content-rich and easy on the eyes ... and I never could find anything I liked better anywhere else - for free or for fee.
