Last night the "File Download message box: some files can harm your computer....... would you like to open file or save to computer" started showing on landing page.

I have no downloads on the website.

I have checked html, checked for a virus and made slight changes to page, reloaded, still there.

Interior pages I have checked still load correctly.

Has Someone or something taken over the landing page.

I have no desire to open file and check out what it is.
I dont think anyone else wants to either.

Has seriously effected Trafic.

Anyone have any ideas as where to look or what to do?

Are you including an applet or an Active X control of some sort? Both of these require downloads and can be considered malicious enough to warrant the message.

Thanks for the response txbakers:

I did have the missing children link on landing page.

I do have some active X on internal pages, using their URLs seem to load ok.

I saw the download message for the first time as I switched to PHP from SSI's for a 404 script. I had left SSI,= server side includes, switched on.

Removing the SSI from the htaccess file, thereby using only PHP, the problem disappeared.

Not sure the cause, whether the PHP in the file confuses the SSI or whether the server by default doesn't allow two types of script processing..?
