What is the best way to manage email?

I run a small company that now manages several different web sites. Managing our email is starting to become an issue. Each web site has a few "general" mailboxes, such as sales, orders, webmaster, etc. Several people, each on a different PC, need access to email coming to these general accounts, and they need a way to read and search mail that has been sent from these accounts.

Does anyone know of an application that will handle this?

Thanks for your help!

Looks like you are moving toward an email server.

However, I have, in the past, setup smaller groups/companies with a single account. It's a bit hokey-pokey, but they loved it. Each user's email client was always setup to access the *shared* file on a mapped drive/shared folder. Whenever anybody would Send/Receive, the files would always be in synch because they were all viewing the same account. This was all setup within the email client (Netscape or Outlook Express). I'm not sure if it is even possible anymore...? You used to be able to specify where the folder was located within the email client (it was really easy to do in Netscape 4.7). We would simply map a drive on their peer-to-peer network, setup a shared folder, and plop the email account into that folder.

That is *exactly* what I wanted to do. Problem is, it seems that there is a way to point Outlook Express to a file on a mapped drive any longer.

Does anyone know if it is possible to do this through Eudora or Netscape's mail client? Or if there is any other software that will accomplish this?

Don't know if this will help, but you can change OE6's default folder location under:

Tools > Options > Maintenance > Store Folder

Looks like you can still do it under Netscape 7.1 as well. Go to Window -- Mail and Newsgroups and setup the accounts!

That is perfect, I guess I just missed that option in OE. I thought I looked everywhere for it.

I will try that out and let you know how it works.

Thanks so much!

I run a bunch of sites and I use a combination of Apple's Mail.app and a little side program called MailTemplete which allows me to send back canned responses.

It is a good combo, and keeps my 200+ emails flowing.
