Someone has copied our entire site!

Please advise what I should do?

I know this has happend to a few people before on this board but I cant find the threads about it!

They have copied the whole site and even the contact page has our phone number and email address on it!

All they have done is add an advert at the top of the site which he probably is trying to gain money from!

I have contacted them direct but as no email is listed I just sent an email to [e-mail]

I also have contacted their host and advised them what they are doing.

It is not the 1st time they have done this as I only found out by someone ringing me up as they had done it to them!

Is there anything else I should do!?!

In what country our you and where is the server of the copied site?

Is it already indexed by search engines?

Im in the UK and his host is in the US.

I have emailed him and his host but its about 5.30am their at the moment.

I have found a telephone number for their host and I will ring them at about 9am local time!

Since their site is hosted in the USA, I would guess the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyight Act) is applicable. Mention that when you call the host. If the host doesn't take any action, search for info in the forum 44, about a cease & desist letter.

If the pages still have your email address and telephone number, then it will be easy to prove it is your content. When they change that, it can help to know if these pages are also in the Wayback Machine [archive.org].

I have received an email back from his host already which is advising him to remove his contect of they will disable his account with them!

Well done to his host I say!

Hopefully when he checks his email he will remove my content and not do it again to anyone else!
