Consequences of Redesign?

Some time back I built a site in front page express. The site is getting decent traffic but I would like to turn it into a money maker.
If I import it into Frontpage (not frontpage express)totally make it over and re-upload it...am I going to suffer any consequences in the search engines? Are there any other lookouts?
Thanks

It depends on your redesign, now doesn't it.

You can either improve your design by a factor of X or completely bollox it up.

If you kept the exact same design, but only started editing it in FP instead of FP express, there shouldn't be any changes at all.

If you're looking to turn it into a moneymaker, I'd do yourself a favor and move away from Frontpage entirely :)

The questions you should ask yourself, "With the new design..."
1) ... am I pushing content lower on the page?
2) ... is there more code-bloat than before?
3) ... is there just an aesthetic change, or can I say that the code is better?
4) ... am I gaining or losing content?
5) ... what content comes up first on the page?
6) ... am I eliminating pages that are currently receiving search engine traffic? (If so, you may want to tell users where they can find the new content)

and there are a bazillion more. Ideally, any redesign should get you more traffic and business, but that's assuming that you're IMPROVING on all fronts, rather than just CHANGING. Change for change's sake is okay, but it's not as good as change for the betterment of the user/SE-spider experience.
