295 failed requests (of which 20 i could explain). Total hits were 9295, and cached requests were 1,331 (not sure what that means). Anyway is this really bad. Should there be any failed requests? I have never seen it time out but my boss said he saw it time out about 15 times in one day last week. I just sorted out the DSN and was told that would solve the problem. but it seems not.

I think our hosting company is a waste of space anyway, but are these amounts of failed requests acceptable.

Cheers

Sounds like either your host is overloading the servers or your servermates are outgrowing it or stressing it out. You shouldn't be seeing pages time out like that. When it happens again, take note of the times. Then contact the techs and ask them to check what's happening on the server. I've got way more hits than you and my failed requests this month are 3 and last month it was 1.

What kind of error code is given for a "failed request"? I'm a little unfamiliar with this, where/what should I be looking for to find out how many "failed requests" I'm getting?
