Hi,

My website is 6 months old,but has good rankings.I made 400-500$ net profit a day(in pounds actually, because we are based in London). The site has 1000 backlinks already, adwords, and quality sites that link to us.But i need more. What I can do with 3000$ roughly?Should I buy more links?

Are you paying close attention to the usability side..?
Are you working to maximize your conversions based on your current traffic..?

Sometimes you need to work to harvest what you already have...instead of trying to game the system (google) even more to acquire more...you may step over the line at some point..

Buying links now with Google's now intiatives may put your progress at risk..

What about your content intitiative..? Is there more you can accomplish by building out new fresh content (which will eventually drive up your page views and solicit organic inbound links...)

Should I buy more links?

What you are buying, IMO, is a guarantee that Google will some day turn off the spigot and leave you with nothing.

If you have $3000 a month for SEO, there's a lot you can do. That would pay for a good SEO outfit to get you better rankings for keywords or phrases that you're not ranking well for now.

Depending upon the competitiveness of your niche, a chunk of that $3K could also be used for a PPC campaign.

If it were my site, I would-

1. Place about half back into the site, adding content, cleaning up code, on page SEO, usability, conversions, etc.

2. Diversify my traffic sources. (would the site still profit if it lost all rankings?)

3. PPC campaigns in multiple engines, including keyword, ad copy, etc- and test them.

If it were an ongoing monthly amount, I would do the above but add a monthly “specials” ppc campaign for a particular service/product I wanted to push or test how well it sells for that month. I would decide what to push by looking at my site logs and customer queries, at least for a starting point.

An alternative might be to use some of the money to create some useful, free and easy to use/distribute thing for your visitors- even if it is just a widget, handy chart/ebook, report, or article- somewhat like what offline businesses do buying pretty calendars with their names and contact info on them, and handing them out freely to clients.

Well, now that you have the site running, and the backlinks, it would be a good move if you put an effort in making the kingdom more rich. And every kingdom has its king, right? Who's the king? The CONTENT, of course. Focus on creating more attractive content, make sure that you have new articles and content published. Write some press releases, right in forums, blogs and so on. Create interesting and grabbing site content, this will be a clever move if you want your site to be spidered and ranked on a higher level, that is.
