What are the main disadvantages of running your DNS server on the same box as your webserver?

(of course the box has to work a bit harder)

I've always had diff boxes setup so I never asked myself this question, but this client has a small budget.

You can always outsource your DNS to a third party solution. The biggest problem is basically if one of the name servers is down you still have another name server to rely on. Of course, if the web server is down, then the site is not accessible

Personally, I don't think there's any disadvantage to running it on the same box. But you do need at least two DNS servers. Even with a small budget, I prefer to use a dedicated DNS provider rather than letting my host do it for me.
