Anybody know of a good webmail front end or server?

hopefully one that's cheap/free

I want to offer free web-based email on my site (running on MS IIS) and was wondering if anybody knew of a good Windows web-based front-end for my Mail Enable server. Actually, if anybody knows of a mail server that has a web interface built into it already, then I'd be willing to switch email servers altogether. Nothing fancy... just webmail and POP. I could program something, but I don't have much time.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Squirrelmail on Apache with PHP.

If you want the whole package (server and webmail) Imail seems to work pretty well, it's not terribly expensive, and the webmail templates are customizable, which is good, because the default templates are pretty awful looking.
(Or, at least they used to be. I haven't looked at it in a year.)

My webhost uses SqWebMail, a CGI based app, which seems to work ok, though it also could use more than it's share of interface work. I don't know much about administering it though.

AspNetPop3 is a very cool little webmail front-end to an existing POP3 server, if you have the .Net framework on your server. It's very inexpensive, and has a nice default interface, though currently it's not as feature-rich as some of the other options.

I use SquirrelMail with IIS on a Win2K with Mercury as the background mail server.

Quite easy to setup and its free. Download PHP, download Squirrelmail, download Mercury, set it up once and you're up and running in no time.

You'll need to enable IMAP on your mail server though, that is how Squirrel Mail will interact with the mail server.

you can also try UebiMiau. Good program, not too many themes though, but the default looks good.

For Windows there's also Mdaemon as mailserver, which holds a webmail tool.

But if you allready have a mailserver and php on your webserver, i'd just go for SquirrelMail. Easy to setup and powerfull enough for most users.

i've decided to bite the bullet and just pay the $175 for the MailEnable Pro upgrade with webmail. since i'm on more of a time crunch than anything else, it seemed like the quickest solution. so far so good.
