Is there a away to burn (copy) mp3s and wav files to a cd so they will act like files but not stay resident on the hard drive? Is it clear what I am asking?

Thanks,

I'm not entirely sure what you are asking, but if you burn those files to a CD and delete them from your hard drive, they will still be available when the disk is in, but won't be on your hard drive.

I mean will they be files, or be music. For exanmple you are limited by min for music but file size for data. That make it clearer?

if you copy them with whatever program you use (i.e. Nero) to the disk in data mode, then you will have the tracks as mp3 on the cd, but if you burn them in music mode then you would have to rip them back into mp3 format, obviously burning them as data is the better way. :)

wrong forum?

Wrong forum : correct answer

If you save as a audio cd then the mp3 files will be converted back into wav forum (sort of). Infact they will be recorded on the cd as CDA (CD Audio) in which case you would need to redo the mp3's.

Save in data mode and it will save as a data file e.g. whatever the file originally was.
