I have HD with 2 partitions C: have SO and progs, and F has data.
I'd like to have only C using the whole disk instead.

If I use an external HD to move there all info in F, can I get back to 1 partition to have SO and software using the whole hd?

Is there a way to do so without reinstalling SO and programs? Any ideas on how to proceed?

It should be, depening on your OS and size of disk. Did your hard drive come partitioned, or did you use a utility to partition it? If the latter, you should be able to use the same utility. Otherwise, but a utility like Partition Magic.

It's a 40 gb hd, me or somebody did the partitions using nothing else but SO (win xp pro) now it's 2 of 20 gb each.
What should I do to make 1 partition of 40 gb?
Or I better try partition magic?

I'd go with Partition Magic, but that's my personal bias.
