Net Safety Day Goes Global

Efforts to make the net less risky for children are being marked by the fourth Internet Safety Day on 6 February.

Events are being held in 31 nations and a blogathon will record activities held as far apart as Australia and Canada.

One UK event sees the launch of a training scheme to give those working with children experience of the risks associated with net use.

Interesting that most of the content in that article is about mobile phones. One point which does stand out is that about knowing who to report things to - in my opinion one of the remaining major shortcomings on the internet and one which can only be addressed through cooperation between police forces worldwide and their respective ISPs.
