I'm at a University and the Dashboard's been perking up some ears around here. People are very interested in the project and what it means from a usability and searching perspective.
From my point of view, I think it's an awesome leap forward from where we are to where we need to go. Our machines have far too much information in them for us to keep all of it in perspective. The ability to pull all of the relevant information on a topic that you already have on your machine is an amazing option to have available. Is it a little creepy? Maybe... But I think we'll get used to it real fast since the creepy factor comes from a lack of understanding of what the thing does and how it works. Once everyone gets used to it, we'll wonder how we ever kept all this information together before.

The only thing I'm afraid is that kind of software can use too much resource of your cpu and make your computer very slow.
PS: Sorry for my poor english
