I'd give up on SEO and concentrate on providing a service to the human readers. The search engines have become sick and tired of poor sites created just to carry advertising and trick readers into "clicking" adverts.

What the web does need, however, are functional sites which cater for the readers, these will attract more readers and revenue....

Rubbish I say, while there are search engines that crawl sites and they use a algorithm to rank sites there will always be SEO's.

I'd stay with SEO, until the day comes that if sites are built, readers will automatically come without somehow finding them.

That's only a small percentage of sites overall, and junk sites are hardly likely to pay for SEO services.

They'll only serve the needs of visitors if they can be found, so SEO is definitely a worthwhile service for sites that need traffic and for readers who need to find them.
