I believe Quanta is part of KDE, and I'm using Gnome at the moment, so it was very slow to start on my system. However, I found the interface pleasing and the features useful. Of course, if you only want syntax highlighting, you can get away with Kedit, which is faster. I've also tried Nedit (good but oh so ugly!), Gedit (no syntax highlighting, so rather limited) and even Vim!
The thing I like about Quanta plus is, it feels as if you are coding by hand, but you still have the sortcuts to insert tags, images etc. When I was a 100% windows user I used various forms of wysiwyg software. I think it made me lazy. Now looking forward to learning more about html.
Best thing about using linux for development is you can save your project in your apache www folder and simply preview your work in localhost. Very helpfull for working with php.
I think quanta was more aimed at web page development in html but works well with php.
Mack.
I am pulling hairs by the truck load!
here is my problem:
for an unknown reason my mouse pointer is now as large as a character and if I click in the middle of any code line
to add a space to perform any change it will del the letter it is pointing on
if I add more to a segment it does add by deleting each following letter or sign insetead of inserting
what's wrong
