add input field to url search

hi i want to add a simple form to look for sites within a specific url www.mysite.com/_________ input the url their looking for after the / so it could be if they enter example for field it would look for www.mysite.com/example if its not valid url it would default to www.mysite.com/thispage dosent exist.. That would depend on how you're processing the form input. Are you writing the form processing script yourself, or using an existing one? What language are you using?
