I have a need for some custom graphics for a site I'm working on. All I need are some small simple illustrations - a man walking up a flight of stairs for example - in black and white.

Should I simply ask someone to provide these in .gif format? I was thinking of approaching an art instructor at the local community college to see if there was a student that could do this for payment.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

You could save some time and money by searching the stock photo websites.

I wonder how many people signed up on iStockPhoto after Guy Kawasaki plugged the site in his keynote speech?

There are also lots of public domain graphics online. Especially black and white.
