Isn't there an option in mailwasher to download the newest mails or mails by date.

It is downloading by the oldest message first and is hence downloading my messages from the year 2002.

I would like it to download or process messages in the descending order .i.e download the newest messages first, so I can get rid of the spam mails that have accumulated because of the damn new virus on the street.

Not, afaik, in versions up to 2.0.28 which was the last of the full-feature contributionware builds.

Thanks Rcjordan. Though I wish there was that particular option, it would have been very useful.

I'm a less-than-a-novice on IMAP email and such, but *IF* you happen to have access to the email account through something like squirrelmail, try moving those you do not want MW to download to another folder. In my experiments so far, MW only downloads the inbox.

I will try that out. Do you know of any other email downloading tools such as mailwasher, and which are capable to deleting spam mails based on filter queries et all the options like mailwasher provides.
