Time Management: Keeping up w/ Running Multiple Websites

How to cope with everything?

I was curious about the experience of other small webmasters.

My situation is: I work a 9-5 job and also own and operate one authority site and another small site on the way of becoming an authority site too but for a restricted set of key words.

I always followed the moto: content is king, and AdSense is my main source of revenue.

However, I am having trouble keeping up: my main site is getting less updates then before, my new site has already missed monetizing opportunities from AdSense.

My overal web revenues are about 1 / 10 th of my salary, so no mean to quit my job.

My question is: how do other webmasters cope with similar situations?

1) I have already reduced the scope of my main site, making it easier to update, but resulting in lower AdSense revenue.

2) I also try to use as much online software as possible, but my main site is custom written making it harder to update.

What about getting content? And sales force?

I did not understand, here's what I have so far:

time-management and website-management issues

What I am trying to say is that it is hard for me to run 2 websites alone, while working full time.

And I meant to say that this has resulted in me updating my sites less often.

I have the same problem. I'm planning on cutting back on the day job. I try to prioritize and put as much time into finding revenue streams and creating content as possible. Things like searching through server logs and putting my daily AdSense income stats into excel are done only when needed.

I manage my own site and about 35 others for clients and it's gotten to the point where I have to quit accepting new jobs as the current clients are providing me with enough work to keep afloat along with other work besides designing. I also had to decide what kind of web work do I enjoy the most and am most talented in and refer all other work elsewhere.

One thing I found that helps is I now have a lap top that I can use in the evening when I'm resting (feet up on daveno) when there is a boring tv program on --- I do my research and other web related interests at that time like participating in forums, etc. I keep 9 to 5 for actual paying web work.
