I like to build my sites online "live".....
The problem is that you get pentalized, if you get indexed "crawled" by a search engine before your finished, for haveing a incomplete website.
Is there a way around this?

Password protect the development site until it's ready to go live.

Is there a easier way?
Like maybe on the main page put robots do not index the following? what would be the correct code for that?
and also I would love to hear about the password protection... Thanks!

There are several threads here dealing with password protection [google.com]. Many times your host will have an option in the control panel that you can use to password protect a folder/directory. If you are using an Apache server then look into the htpasswd [google.com] utility.
