I am guessing that at least 20% ~ 25% of my visitors are using my websites from work as that is the drop in traffic I typically see each weekend.
However, this week of the Thanksgiving holiday in the US, traffic did not completely rebound as usual on Monday and Tuesday. I am labeling this week as 'slow due to the holiday.'
I don't know yet but I am guessing that the week of December 25th will be slow as well. Or not? Maybe everyone will be trying out new computers from Santa :-)
I also saw a gentle decline in traffic from mid-May through the 4th of July holiday but then a big surge in mid-August which I still don't understand. Any ideas?
For a fair indication of how busy the Internet is overall look at the Alexa Traffic Details Page Views report with a set of commonly used domains like www.google.com + msn.com + yahoo.com
Using the 6 month range it is possible to see seasonal effects and with the 7 day range it was possible to see the significant drop on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
