I have about 20 pages which were part of an old menu structure which I used about 2 years ago.

How do I deal with getting rid of those pages?

Some SE's still bring one or two visitors a day to those old expired pages.

Here are the options:

Toast
Delete them so that the standard 'sorry that page is no longer available...please visit the home page here...' is displayed to visitors.

Leave Alone
SE's have the pages indexed and it brings a few visitors. Don't upset the applecart

Redirect
Either redirect in htaccess or meta tag.

If you no longer want those pages in SEs then see to it that when that is requested, your site returns a 404 header. This will tell SEs that the page no longer exists and will automatically be taken off SE listings.
