I have developed a UKbased recruitment website which has pr4 and is database driven and has a reasonable amount of traffic. the site is established and could really make some cash someone had the time to invest in it.

how can i sell this site? is there somewhere on the net for selling websites?

any suggestions will be most would be appreciated

You could approach an established recruitment agency and explain that you have the said site and are willing to sell it to them, it could improve ther business especially if it is getting visitors already.

You could even offer to re-brand it or adjust it to suit their specific needs, which i think would make it a more interesting and valuable aquisition for them.

Just my 2 bob.

Putting a value on site is a difficult thing to do. It depends on industry, and you might find a site useful to you and therefore would pay more than mr X who thinks its slightly less useful.

I know nothing about the recruitment industry. But i would try to evaluate the site fairly when coming up with a price. Think about how much money the site could bring to a potential buyer and if it cost you anything to build you need to think about recovering those costs.

Also perhaps you could email a developer and enquire about how much it would cost to build a site like yours. That would give you a good idea of how much folks are paying for this kind of site.

Hope that helps. :)

If you are looking to come up with a ballpark value for this site, why not try this:

Take a look in the PPC engines for the common keywords that drive people to your site. Figure out the cost per click for each keyword, then come up with a weighted average for all of those keywords based on how much traffic each of them delivers to your site.

You then have a number that says it would cost $X.XX to get each visit that comes to my site. Multiply that figure out by your traffic for the year, and then you have a value of how much a company would have to spend to get that traffic to their site for the year. Take this out over a couple of years and use that as the value of your site.

This approach values your content, links, and overall site development in terms of the current market value it would take to buy similar traffic. There are weaknesses to the approach, mainly that your serps and the CPC in this sector could rise/fall but it is a good starting point if you have none.

one method of valuation that get tossed around here quite a bit is 3 to 5 times yearly revenue.
