Using on web a UDF video format

How could I post such a video?

A client gave me a DVD and needs its content to be posted, files look to be UDF format.
This not my cup of tea :)(understatement!)

What should I do to post it on the web
need changing format?

Do I need downloading some tool?

Just out of curiosity I tried to copy it on a local dir but I cannot do it, although my XP machines are very recent.

Any help will be appreciated.

Do the mean that the DVD's filesystem is UDF, if so then UDF Reader [roxio.com] should let you read it.

I was under the impression that it should possibly be compressed and changed to a better web format

That depends on the format of the video files, is it a 'video DVD' with folders named VIDEO_TS, etc. Or is it a 'data DVD' with video files (eg. example.avi or example.mpg).

It is only a format like VIDEO_TS....
One of the reason why I do not know how to handle it
is that it not a .avi or .mpg

OK, in that case you need to use a dvd 'ripping' tool to encode the dvd video files in a different format. There's a list here [videohelp.com]. You'll need to choose what file format you want to convert to, i'm not a expert but as far as I know MPEG gives the best compression, theres also DivX which should give even better compression but not everyone is going to have the codec installed.
