Looking for a ready-made solution for this project.

I am looking for a ready-made solution (i.e. a php or cgi script already written) to achieve the following:

I'm creating a website for a client/organization that collects charity donations such as used clothing, furntiure, household items, etc. (like Purple Heart, for those of you who might be familiar with that). They pick up the donated goods at the donors' homes on scheduled days.

My client wants donors to be able to go to their website and search by zip code to find out what days their truck will be doing pickups in their area. They can then select the day they want the items picked up by clicking on a link for that day that takes them to a form with which they would submit their pickup day request and location. Ideally, they would get a reminder email a day before the pickup (or other specified internal).

Does anyone know of a script that does all that? I've searched all over and looked at MANY appointment scheduling scripts but nothing so far seems to fit what I need.

As a last resort, I could have it all custom programmed. I'm not a programmer, though, so I don't know what the best route/means would be to accomplish the objective. Anyone have any suggestions? I'm a web designer and can install (and maybe do some minor hacking/customizing of) cgi and php scripts, but I can't write them and don't have the time to learn how right now. Whatever I use has to run on a Linux server.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I put this in the "General" forum since forums for scripting are split up.

I have developed an application similar to this for a client. As you did, I looked for something ready made, and found nothing that really did everything I needed. I honestly think you should look into getting a programmer for the project..
