Hello,

When i check sites backlinks in google i see some sites that have their own pages as backlinks. Some other sites (like mine) dont have any such links? Why is that so, is there anything i have to do?

Thanks

Hi BBB_Guy,

This function used to show all the links to a page (not a site) that were coming from pages that had a certain PageRank and the function only worked for pages with a certain PageRank. That lower limit was somewhere between a PR4 and a PR5. So both the page with the link as the page being linked needed a decent PR. Just as now, it showed links from pages no matter if it is the same site or not. Of course, when only the Home page had a PR5 and the rest was PR3 and lower, only links from pages at other sites were displayed.

In early May the backlinks started to act differently. The PageRank limit seemed lower, but Google seemed to forget a lot of backlinks. The PageRank and therefore also the backlinks were updated once a month. Last update was June 15 (cf. Updates [webmasterworld.com]), so it's about time the backlinks are updated.

is there anything i have to do?

Google should do that, not you. You can just wait.

A new thread was started, and it looks on www-cw.google.com and www-gv.google.com you can see new backlinks. More info: Backlinks updated - Yahoo 1,100,000 [webmasterworld.com]
