I would really appreciate any advice as I am having a BAD SEO week.
Firstly, last Thursday Google dropped virtually all the high ranking keyphrases for the site I maintain. These have been steady for over three years - gone overnight.
Secondly, yesterday I found non site relevant search terms had appeared in the sites awstats log. I found that Yahoo search is listing dozens of links which have hijacked the site URL's. There are three urls which point to the site - all have some hijacked links. Google Analytics does not show the search terms that appear in Awstats. It appears that the hijack site - which is a simple page with links to sites such as KLIK VIP only links through from Yahoo. Taking the url displayed in Yahoo and pasting it into a browser gets a 404 not found error.
This hijacking may or may not be why our Google rankings have dropped - I don't know but I am obviously keen to stop the hijacking.
Can anyone advise me what can be done to stop it? Any help would be appreciated as it seems impossible to get any reply from Google/Yahoo etc.
