PRWEB Sold to Vocus for $28 Million

PRWeb - one of the long time Press Release services was sold on monday for a reported $28million.

Vocus is paying $28 million in cash and stock for a company that develops technologies to help clients get their news to journalists and to the top of search engines.

Lanham-based Vocus, which make software for corporate communications and public relations, has acquired PRWeb of Ferndale, Wash., for $20.8 million in cash and 494,543 shares of Vocus stock.

Good for them. Nice to see Pubcon regulars do well. I think they did a lot of things right, including understanding SEO long before any other competitors.

yeah total congrats to the PR Web guys. I feel like they have been one of the cornerstones in the industry...plus they helped me get LOTS of traffic to sites ;)

Have also heard that mgt threw over $3million in bonuses at employees. DM's office was said to be a river of tears when he started handing out as much as 100k each to employees...

That's fabulous. I always dropped by PRWeb's booth at WebmasterWorld conferences and they're sessions were always very informative. Good for them.

Not surprised they treated their employees so well. They seem like a class act.
