Got hacked and they changed my internet connection phone number

happened to anyone else?

Don't know how it happened but somehow the dial-up number (I live in a non-broadband region) I use to connect to the internet was changed. Norton had caught some spyware that day though.

It changed the number from a freephone one to a premium rate one - 0871 0101070. As the number only flicks by for a couple of milliseconds I didn't notice until about three days later by which time I'd run up a a bill of over £300 just on that number.

I phone BT to tell them and they said they would investigate but two months later I just got my bill and it hasn't been removed. They haven't responded to my letters yet (I gave up after being on hold for half an hour) but I wondered if this had happened to anyone else and what they did about it?

In my experience they are the most useless bunch of idiots on the planet, but you might be lucky.
