How to only show http://mydomain.com in the browser bar?

I sound like the biggest noobie but...

My site is mydomain.com. But when someone goes to my homepage it takes them to [mydomain.com...]

How do I make it so the home page says just plain [mydomain.com...] in the browser bar for the URL?

Do a search for frames. By framing the page you will always have your index page in the url but the content will be different depending on what "annoyingtext" you pass to the frame.
