Hey Guys,

My stats package (statcounter - an on page tracking code) says ive been getting a few hits a day going to:

http://%20www.example.com

* Why is this?
* Can I solve it so they redirect to the correct pages?

In search engines SERPS say:

%20www.example.com

do you have a link with a space in the start of the url?

http:// www.blabla

%20 is how a browser or bot will render a space in a url.

If Statcounter shows that users are clicking (http://%20www.example.com), it could mean a few things:

1) Another website has posted an invalid URL to your site, and users are trying to click it. Mack is right: the %20 is a space symbol.

2) A page on your site has the invalid URL (http://%20www.example.com) and users are clicking on it (from within your site)

Check the "Visitor Path" statistic in StatCounter. That should tell you where the visitor who clicked the URL came from.
