Hi,

A few members of my site e-mail us statign that they were bombarded with pop-ups when they were at my site. The problem is that none of our sites run pop-up/under ads. I figured that I recommended that she run Spybot search and destroy and Adware to detect and eliminate spyware. That was the key.

Now, what can I do to block these programs that run pop-ups on my site w/o permission? I am not Overstock.com, so I really do not have the resources in filing a lawsuit against Kazza, Gator, and every other major spyware company.

Any sugggestions on how to combat this?

As the ads are triggered client-side, there's nothing you can do (that I can think of) about it.

Hopefully someone else will prove me wrong.

I work for a larger E-commerce Site and as of yet we have yet to figure out a way around it. We just provide a link on our contact page giving our customers info on why popup windows occur and how to get rid of them.

Also if you use commision junction I suggest dropping clicksprings.net(purityscan.exe, winservn.exe) and 180Solutions(n-Case) as they are both makers of spyware and will use your site in thier popups.
