I use Aspseek search engine for my internal site search. Having read the logs, I noticed that a lot of surfers would really benefit with the auto-spell check feature that Google API offers free to websites.

I have no knowledge about API's or whatsoever. Is there any easy way I could implement it on my Aspseek search engine?

Any help from the techies would certainly be very helpful.

TIA :)

There is referace to a spell checker over on the aspseek forums. I think it is called espell. It may be in cvs. It might be worth taking a look at.

Its called ispell. I think it is not as comprehensive as Google Spell check. I am still checking it out.

Yep ispell thats the one.

From what I have read it seams to be ok. As you say not quite as comprehensive as Google but certainly worth a look. I'm no expert with the Google api so hopefully this bump may get you a few more responses. The only main problem I see with using the api is, you will be restricted to 1000 searches (or spell checks) per day.

Let me know how you get on with ispell and good luck.
