First post - so hi everybody!
I've got a domain in mind for development and I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction for ColdFusion hosting, preferably less than $25 a month, 5 or MX is fine and with support for an SQL database or two.

So has anyone heard any good reports or had a good experience themselves with any host in particular?

Thanks everyone,

Adam

At that price range you're more or less limited to shared hosting, and of the three or so where I've tried it out the CF implementation is disappointing. None of them allowed user installation of custom tags, which is somewhat understandable, but two of them disallowed any custom tags at all and the other wanted some ridiculous fee and a month to review. And custom tags are a big, big way to enhance CF's simplicity-- IMHO its chief competitive advantage over ASP, PHP, and especially JSP.

The one I stickied supports CF custom tags.

That's great, thanks alot for the replies and your messages, I've got some good ones to consider now. A lot of the larger hosting companies seem to add a very high premium to having CF on your plan, kind of a shame as it can't help the popularity of the language much.

I'll say it on here :P

Crystaltech hands down best company I have dealt with for coldfusion hosting... Before I started working for my current employer I used Crystaltech a good deal. Only complaint I ever had was one time their timeout was set low (30 second) for what I wanted to do...thing is now I know I can just use cfsetting to override the time out. They'll allow custom tags and I think for right around 25 bucks they offer 50 mb of SQL server...

Copious hosting is fairly affordable too but I have never used them so not sure how good thier service is. Look like a pretty good package.
