What's the best SSL Cert. these days?

Thawte? Instant SSL? Geotrust?

I need to purchase an SSL Certificate for a web site, but I can't afford Verisign's Certificate.

So, I wondered what people are using (and trusting) these days? I am familiar with Thawte, but not so much InstantSSL and Geotrust. Are there any others I should be checking out?

Thawte may be your best bet.

Some of the others you mention are not recognized as valid certificate issuers/signers by some browsers (Opera being one).
