I've really just begun to start developing websites for as a part-time profession. I've got lots to learn still and lots of questions. I'll start with this question. When developing websites, how much can I "take" from other sites and when have I gone to far? Is there a general code of ethics? Can I use exact layout structures? Can I reuse images? I need thoughts on these types of concerns. Thanks!

find a friend who doesnt know about your projects. show them site a, and site b, and ask them if one looks like they copied the other (dont tell them you made one of them). if you say yes -- to similar :P
Images? Well, do you _own_ those images? If there on someone else's site, they probably hold the copyright to them... Ask permission, if not.. dont use...
