Hello,
I've been trying to find a new webhost for our company website and it's tough wading through the ever growing list of companies offering web hosting services. I was wondering if anyone who reads these forums has a suggestion for a good, reliable, and fast webhost in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC area of the East Coast. I'm looking for somewhere that offers about 500megs - 1gig of space and a good amount of bandwidth who also provides mysql db's and java/jsp's. I appreciate any input/suggestions. If I'm violating any rules/customs with this post, please forgive, it's my first post and I didn't see anything in the posting rules that mentioned not posting anything of this nature. Thanks much

cmose - welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Is there a particular reason you want a host that's in that neighborhood? It really doesn't matter in the least where your site is hosted.

There are a couple hosts that come up routinely when someone askes about a good host around here: www.pair.com and www.westhost.com (which hosts this board).

If you use the site search to look for 'hosting recommendation' or 'web hosting companies' etc you'll find we've had numerous discusssions about good and bad hosting companies. Hope that helps:)

thanks much for the info, as to local, that is a desire from the powers that be, can be overlooked if I find something decent enough. I was actually looking in to weshost and sent them an email with a few questions. I'll do a search around the board and see what I can come up with, thanks much for the reply
