Dear webmasters!

We have changed the DNS setting of our domain and has pointed it to new servers. My friends in USA and Spain can see my site (vbulletin installed) but I can only see a page that says "Server is sucessfully installed" . I have tried to clear the browser history, cookies, temporary files but still facing the same problem. Can anyone help me out?

How long since you changed the DNS? It does take a while to propagate.

Thought you might have better luck finding answers over here in the "Webmaster General" forum than over in Foo... :-)

Sounds like jatar has the same idea I did: It may be that the DNS server for your ISP hasn't updated yet.

The DNS setting was changed yesterday by my webhost team. If the changes take time to take affect, then how come my friends can see the site?

on a rare occasion it can take up to seven day for all dns server to update the reason your friends can see it is because maybe dns server they connected to has been updated.

Is the new server local. If so you will have to access it from it's local area address.

trying to access a local server using it's full url address is like sitting in your home tryng to post a letter to yourself. External protocol will fail to resolve to an internal address.

What do u mean by local server here? I have paid ££ to a UK web host (yes I live in UK) I can access my site if I type the url of the server, but not with my own domain.

webustaad, if you want to sticky me your url and your host, we might get a clearer picture.

The most likely answer is that your friends can see it because they are using another ISP (s).

It is up to each ISP to update its own nameservers. In all probability your freinds ISPs have updated between yesterday and today and your ISP has yet to do so.

Wait in total 48 hours, and if you still cannot get the site, contact your ISP to ask when they last refreshed their nameservers.
