Budget- $500 but willing to go up to $1000 if required.
Site Platform: Windows 2000 Server

Main duty- Allow site members to generate content

Secondary- Support and interaction with user base.

Would be good to have ability to start on Access and upsize to SQL if/when needed.

Must be spider friendly.

Ability to automatically query messages for kewords/phrases undesired and move to a holder area for review. Or- some similar screening method.

Strongly prefer no monthly license fees or hidden costs.

Willing to live with a license 'per domain' deal.

Integrated LiveChat with some nifty features.

Strong feature set out of the box, but ability to customize look/feel required to match site needs. Like skins here but more flexible from developer end.

Tight code, solid support, as hassle free as realistically possible.

I do recall Brett mentioning a price base compared to other products...and was searching for that post to find those other products. Couldn't.

Most web searches popped up good free or cheap stuff. Why don't the Snitz people make an industrial strength version of Snitz? oh, well.

The following looks interesting, but is made by one guy. That's not a concern in itself...just future support issues should something happen to him...

Are there any outright winners for really solid discussion software meeting my needs? Surprised there were no

Brett- any timeframe on BestBBS release? Would consider a platform change if required for BestBBS.

You will be porting an ASP.NET version of it though, right?

Thanks in advance.

AW

Thanks. ASPPLayground looks really nice and they just came out with a .NET version. There were even tweaks made for Search Engine considerations.

That looks like the route I'll take.

Or you could give yourself the challenge of writing one yourself! ;-)
