Test Firewall and WEP

How do I test to make sure both my router firewall and Norton firewall is working right. I have had no attacks and but not sure if that is accurate.

Also, is there a way to test WEP? The utility says it is working, but again want to double check.

I am not doing anything near risky, but want to know for education.
