What is the best software for CD burning as I really need to back up my files and Websites!

I had a trial of Nero but it has now ran out and they want $50. Is there any good free ones about?

As all burning software has the same result I would just go with one that your comfortable with using. I think you are contradicting yourself asking for the best and asking for it to be free ;). You've already trialed what I would suggest.

I think product name drops are not allowed unless the product is free. Can a mod please confirm and can posters please bear this in mind.

I agree with the Comfort part and slightly disagree with "all software having same result" :)

Actually depends on your needs. Dazz mentioned for data backup. If it's simple data then i agree with chris_f that all have same results. If it's a little more complicated like cda or mpeg or making bootables then the results vary slightly. We had a discussion on Nero just few days ago in FOO. I find it to be an allrounder and very good Value for money. It is a very popular software. I can go on into the intricate details but i think you get the point :)
