Alexa.com & HTML Frames!

Would Alexa.com counts these cases up?

Hi,

I'm wondering if someone of you already investigated this issue:

As a webmaster of multiple websites, let's say:
www.x.com
www.y.com

I will need sometimes to hide one of my domains from being visited directly, so I would create a 2 frames page to ensure that the user will not notice the change in the URL.

My question in this case is: Will Alexa.com recognize the traffic that will occur due to the loading of the frame contents. Or Alexa.com will only credit what's in the URL Address bar site.

Waiting for your feedback.

Thanks in Advance.

Hi Wael_Ghonim, welcome to webmasterworld :)

Fist up, Alexa search is just Google results with Alexa site info - so your question is really about how Google handles this situation.

This is not a good method of concealing your url. Many visitors will also know that they are being taken to a different domain.

Search engines follow links. They don't care what is or isn't displayed in the address bar of your browser. So, if your frameset links to www.x.com and also www.y.com, the search engine will know that there are 2 different domains being used. Alexa will credit the traffic to whichever domain the visitor is actually on, regardless of what the frameset does.
