Anyone know what color sherbert orange would be? I have a client who wants "sherbert orange" - but wont get any more specific. Anything I've tried isn't it and she wont get more specific.

I'd guess it's orange... But it is not spelled "Shertbert," it's "Sherbet."

Australians have a "Sherbert," but that's a different concoction.

I'd interpret that as something close to rgb(255,195,135). Kind of a milky orange.

Click Oilman's link to Google images and look at this image:

The upper right hand scoop is what you're looking for.

#FFCC99 dithered with #FFFFFF is pretty close...

Sherbet in Hindi, Urdu and Arabic means a cold drink (sort of home made).

Unbelievable! Clients eh?!

If she won't get more specific, then you just have to go with whatever you think sherbert orange is and if she doesn't like it, tell her that you had to take a personal interpretation on it because she wouldn't give you specifics!

Tell her you also asked around.

The really stupid thing is, she must have got the name from somewhere. Which means she's seen it on a colour chart somewhere. So why she can't just send you that or tell you where she got the name from - or at least which brand uses that name definition for the colour she wants is just beyond me.

My gut feeling is you're going to have problems with this client - and I don't think just over colours...

mil2k,
Sherbet in Hindi, Urdu and Arabic means a cold drink
- (or its concentrate)

That liquid concentrate in Australia/NZ is called a Cordial (whether diluted or not). Not sure what the Americans call it - never really needed to buy it there.

Sherbet here is usually a sachet of powder that is a mix of bicarb of soda, icing sugar and citric acid + colouring, so the milky colour sounds right.
