Hi,
How do you find out why a particular site was dropped by google?

Thanks

Ask (without naming the site) in the Google forum. Describe the pertinent points of your site.

Particularly:

1) How long has the site been up?
2) What was its page rank last month?
3) Are you just suffering the same quirks of the latest update as everyone else?
4) Have you been doing anything that might have got you banned, e.g. hidden text, linking to bad neighbourhoods etc.

John,
Thank you very much for your response, One more question, What is a "bad neighbourhood"

I would have though a "porn" site is an obvious "bad neighbourhood" but what other sites are considered bad neighbourhood?

Thanks for you help.

With regard to a "Bad neighbourhood" i cant help you with its definition, im sure we all have our own.

But when linking to a site examine their code, if there is anything you wouldn't use on your site or anything that you think is unethical then dont link to them.

Thats a general rule i use, i find it helps when trying to stay away from what i consider a "bad neighbourhood".
