seemingly simple - but yet so terrbily confusing!

simply put - I am trying to carry select SE (google, yahoo, mas, etc) keywords to personalised - friendly welcome message on home page

How Can This Be Done?

Has anybody figured this one out yet?

example

1) web user searched google for fuzzy green widgets
2) our site whatever.com is returned along with countless 1000's of others
3) we are optimised for 'fuzzy green widgets' along with several hundred other garden items
4) web user actually clicks on our link
5) goal is to display message thanking them for visiting our special 'fuzzy green widgets' area and, ideally, point them with this same message to 'fuzzy green widgets' clickable link to item in our site

ideas?

You can check for the referrer before you output your page by using PHP. You would need to write a script to parse out the search query.

Check out php.net for predefined variables.

ideally, i would like this to be an ssi type of thing - maybe a ad / banner application so i can keep track of things...

do you know of any out of the can apps that will look to refer for output?
