I've got to admit. This is a small rant.
Over the weekend I was updating my site (via FTP on a shared hosting server) when my internet connection went down. After reconnecting to continue with the FTP my data folder (containing the databases that powered the site) had disappeared. I couldn't even upload a backup database as the entire folder had gone. Creating a new folder gave it the wrong permissions :(
I tried phoning the tech support line and just got the answer machine. I sent urgent emails of help (this was 9am saturday morning). I only this morning recieved an email reply (at 9:30) saying
Will get back to you shortly
That was the entire contents of the email. Needless to say I'm a little <word I can't say> off. Since when does a 24 hour support line close for the weekend and since when was a 6 word email a professional response. It's still not fixed and a very impatient but important client is now EXTREMLY <word I can't say> off.
Ahh Well. They were my best host yet. My renewal comes up in October. I get the feeling I'll have to find a new one.
