I am sure this topic may meet different reactions but I am interested in purchasing some computer surveilance software to monitor employees.

I am very new to this and have seen eBlaster which on the surface seems to do everything I need.

Does anyone have any experience with this or similar software? any recommendations?

Do not use software that is known as spyware to monitor activity, instead talk with your network administrator and tell him that you want to monitor activity and if he doesnt know how to he can learn how to monitor the networks activity.

Or try and use a hardware keystroke recorder because it wont install any software on the computer and its hidden for the most part. They dont take screenshots, but they do monitor all keystroke activity. Keep in mind also monitoring your network activity is illegal in some states even if you own the network. In order to make it legal you better have employee contracts signed that say you may monitor all network activity to ensure propper work functions are being performed in the work place.

EliteWeb, Thanks very much for your advice especially the last bit had not thought of that so we will implement it asap as it makes perfect sense.

Why do you say not to use these commercial software products? Eblaster seems very efficient with some good reviews from magazines etc.

"I am sure this topic may meet different reactions..."

Yep. Technology will not solve personnel problems. What you need is a trustworthy frontline supervisor that knows his employees and maintains good relationships with them.

Why would you want to spy on your employees? A culture of distrust can't be good for productivity.

Willy - sorry did not reply sooner.

I agree sort of with what you are saying but when you see a deterioration of work quality even complaints re some staff you begin to wonder what is going on.

I agree good Supervisors, motivation etc are the best to go but I am not so much spying as just ensuring that highly confidential information is safeguarded, the time spent on playing games and doing perso email is kept to a minimum, and to watch out for any security holes within the company.

I was astounded at what eblaster can do, and have told many of my friends about it.

Do not forget Eblaster or similar could be used for good and bad, in my case we are looking at security, but imagine if you fired someone and let them use their computer for only a few seconds more (or that person already knew that she might be fired) and that person managed to install something like Eblaster on the computer.

I am looking at this type of software to a) ensure I know what is out there and so can try and safeguard against it and b) to maintain security.

Now I know what some of these programmes can do I will think twice about using internet cafes and such.

Ebezzlement takes many shapes and forms and is one of the biggest crimes in the world that goes mainly unreported.
