Unwanted Commercial popups on my site?

I have in my log file strange referrer: (only one)

HEAD / HTTP/1.1" 200 0 "http://www.netcraft.com/survey

"HEAD not GET"

My site is without commercial, but wen I click on one my page link I get commercial.
I think that strange referrer have something with commercials Spam.
I need your opinion and help!

Hi,

Netcraft is a company monitoring the net activity, and doing an inventory by type of server. To retrieve that type of info, they don't need your page, only the header which contains all the info.
It's a quite clean approach, in terms of bandwidth and not spam related in any way.

Have a look at their site, you'll discover by yourself. ;)

you mean that you are getting ads showing on part of your site? that log entry you show is not malicious.

reasons for unexpected ads:
1 - adware on your computer (try adaware)
2 - popped under ad from previous site visited
3 - check your source code :-)
